About Us

Metamorphosis Behavioral Consulting utilizes the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis to design and implement interventions that aim at decreasing undesirable behaviors and to promote socially significant behaviors.

What is Applied Behavior Analysis?

Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is the scientific discipline that focuses on systematically applying the principles of Behavior Analysis with the purpose of promoting socially significant behaviors. The practice uses reliable measurement, in which behaviors are operationally defined (i.e., in terms that are observable and quantifiable). ABA also focuses heavily on data collection to record and ensure progress.

Applied Behavior Analysis utilizes evidence-based practices supported by decades of scientific research. The 1999 Report of the Surgeon General states, “Thirty years of research demonstrated the efficacy of applied behavioral methods in reducing inappropriate behavior and in increasing communication, learning, and appropriate social behavior.”2

What is behavior?

Behavior is defined as everything that a person does, including thinking. Therefore, every action can be defined as a collection of behaviors.1
